Charges against Shelley Fillipoff were laid after a months-long Ottawa police investigation into her son, real estate agent Matthew Fillipoff.
Police allege Matthew was supplying cocaine to street-level traffickers near Ottawa.
Last Thursday, police raided several homes and vehicles belonging to the family.
In Matthew Fillipoff’s car they found cocaine and almost $4,000 in cash.
At his home, police seized 510 grams of cocaine, 518 grams of MDMA powder, 14 Fentanyl patches, 325 grams of hash, and 12 grams of marijuana.
At Shelley Fillipoff’s home, police found and seized 356 grams of cocaine, 1,100 grams of marijuana, seven bundles of cash, and two shotguns.
Shelly Fillipoff faces several charges including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana, unauthorized possession of a firearm and money laundering.
Her son also faces several drug trafficking and weapons related charges.
Shelley Fillipoff has paid several visits to Victoria in an effort to locate her missing daughter Emma Fillipoff.
Emma was 26 when she went missing in Victoria in 2012. She was last seen acting strangely in front of the Empress Hotel.
Her mom spent months scouring the street of Victoria looking for her daughter.
In a CHEK News interview from December 2012, Shelley Fillipoff said she thought her daughter had an emotional breakdown and there is a history of mental illness in the family.
“There’s no reason to think there are any drugs involved or anything like that either,” she said.
Reporters reached Shelley Fillipoff by phone Wednesday morning in her Ottawa home after she was released from custody.
She declined to comment, only saying the charges are unrelated to the ongoing search for her daughter.
Three other men and three women are also facing drug possession charges.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
