It’s not revealing the price, but BC Ferries said a 52-year-old ferry taken out of service at the end of 2014 has been sold to a Port Alberni company.
BC Ferries said Lady Rose Marine Services will take possession of the 43 metre MV Tenaka in mid May.
The company intends to use the ferry to provide passenger and freight service from the Alberni Inlet to Vancouver Island, but it said it can’t disclose the selling price because it needs to protect the competitive bidding process for two other ferries that will be retired soon and offered for sale.
