May 25th is Missing Children’s Day around the world.
Victoria marked it with a special ceremony for Michael Dunahee.
Students from Quadra Elementary gathered near where Michael Dunahee went missing 25-years-ago to rededicate a tree planted in his honour.
Former Blanshard Elementary School students planted the tree in 1992. Since then, the community has adopted it as a symbol of hope for Michael’s return.
In 2015, RCMP recorded over 45,000 reports of missing children across Canada.
